Teacher of Biology

Start date:  12th April 2021

Part time 0.8 FTE | Maternity cover

Salary: 0.8 pro rata of FTE £28,731 - £44,384

We are looking for a dynamic and inspirational Teacher of Biology for a fixed term, maternity cover role. You will be teaching A Level Biology and BTEC L3 Applied Science. You must be committed to active and innovative teaching and learning and be passionate about the subject. There is an opportunity for additional responsibility as Teacher in Charge of Biology for the right candidate.

You will work within a well-resourced science department that provides an exciting environment to deliver outstanding teaching and learning. A significant proportion of our students go on to university with many electing to study science related subjects.

The College is currently undergoing a digital transformation strategy and it is envisaged that all students will have access to an IPad to support their learning. If you are keen to help improve the digital literacy of learners, then we want to hear from you.

The salary will be paid (0.8 pro rata) on the Sixth Form Colleges’ scale (£28,731 - £44,384) per annum inclusive of Inner London Weighting. There is a cost of living increase pending for 2020/21 academic year. Progression will be by one scale point each year, subject to satisfactory appraisal outcomes, until scale 9 is reached.
