The Post

The College is seeking to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic and hardworking teacher to join the highly successful Computing and Game Design Department. The successful applicant will be required to teach Computer Science A Level and BTEC Level 3 Computing.

The permanent, part-time (19.04% - 38.09%) post is available from 1 September 2019.

Our ideal person will be able to demonstrate a track record of success in delivering the highest standards and achieving outstanding results. The post holder must be confident in the use of Information Technology in all aspects of their work.

The post would equally suit an experienced or newly qualified teacher.

The Department

The Department classrooms are fully equipped with data projectors, dual monitors, desktops, white boards and Wi-Fi. The Department has access to mobile learning devices to further enhance learning.

The Department teaches in a collaborative style, with all staff contributing to centralised resource packs. Students regularly progress onto university courses for Computer Science, Computing, Game Design and Business.

The Department has three other members of teaching staff who work closely as a team in a friendly and co-operative manner. Strong emphasis is given to mutual support by the exchange of ideas and materials.


The Department offers A Level Computer Science on the AQA specification, BTEC Level 3 Computing, AQA Foundation Technical Level in Video Game Art and Mechanics and BTEC Level 2 Information Technology. The course grades are consistently high on all courses with 45% of students achieving A*-B grades last year (100% pass rate) in A Level Computer Science.

The main programming language used on the courses is Java.


The salary for this post is up to £40,092 per annum (FTE).
