Job overview

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed teacher of geography to teach across the age and ability range of pupils from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5.

Geography is a popular subject at Kingsley Academy and students have welcomed it as part of the Ebacc suite of exams. This is therefore an excellent opportunity to join a small and committed team, working within a larger faculty structure. The newly appointed member of staff will be an ambitious, committed and hardworking team player who will support their faculty and the Leadership Team in continuing to improve the academy.  We have much to offer a candidate who is passionate about teaching and learning and looking to build their career and develop a range of teaching and leadership skills both inside and outside the classroom.

We have been fortunate to have recently taken ownership of a brand new £30 million building with landscaped gardens and sports areas. All departments  are well resourced with the latest equipment, including Sharps HD wide screen TVs to project the highest quality images, access to ICT through laptops.

Kingsley Academy is an 11-18 mixed community school that is culturally diverse, multi-lingual and inclusive.  We are proud of our student body and committed to maintaining our inclusive ethos: our unity in diversity is a real strength. As well as a caring and positive ethos, we offer many advantages including well-behaved and interesting students who are enthusiastic learners irrespective of where they join us on their academic journey (many join the school at different stages and there is a strong support to ensure they make as much progress as possible); strong departmental and senior leadership support; and membership of the largest academy chain in England, Academies Enterprise Trust (AET), which brings us a range of benefits including consultancy support. Students report that they feel safe in school and know who to turn to should they need support or advice.  .

We can offer:

- the support of a cohesive and committed team of teachers who work collaboratively to maintain high standards and expectations;

- a well-equipped, new building with excellent facilities in the centre of Hounslow, close to public transport and amenities

- a comprehensive induction package for Trainee Teachers and  CPD opportunities for more experienced staff.

The position is required to commence 1 September 2018.

Closing date for applications is Monday 18 June 2018 at 5pm.

We reserve the right to close this vacancy early should we receive an overwhelming response.  All candidates are advised to refer to the job description and person specification before making an application.

As  the sponsor, AET believes that all young people deserve to become world-class learners – to learn, enjoy, succeed and thrive in a first rate educational environment with the best facilities, the best teaching and the most up-to-date resources available to them.  In each of our academies, you will benefit from visionary, inspirational and dynamic leadership and be empowered to develop your own skills with access to world-class CPD and Talent Management programmes.  You will also be entitled to the following benefits: teachers’ pension scheme, a health cash plan and childcare vouchers.

In line with our safeguarding practices we are unable to accept CV's.

We are committed to safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  A Disclosure and Barring Service Certificate will be required for all posts. This post will be subject to enhanced checks as part of our Prevent Duty.
