El Limonar International School (ELIS) has been providing a high quality bilingual education for Spanish and International students from Early Years to KS5 in southern Spain for close to thirty years. First in the city of Murcia and later near the coast at Villamartin (Torrevieja in Alicante) ELIS has undergone significant growth and development over the years to become the highly respected, British curriculum international school that it is today. Currently the Villamartin site has around 500 students. In order to build upon our achievements to date, the Principal is inviting applications for the post of ICT and Business Studies English teacher for Secondary and Sixth Form to replace the current member of staff who is to retire from the profession. The post represents a genuine career advancement opportunity for a suitably UK qualified teacher as it will, following an induction period, include specific curriculum development responsibilities as part of the ‘ELIS Cognita Leap’ which is a group-wide initiative to increase investment into technological hardware in schools and weave the use of technology into all aspects of the curriculum in order to develop the skills required by young people for their future workplace experiences.
This post requires a PGCE-qualified teacher experienced in the teaching of either ICT or Computing as well as knowledge and experience of IGCSE and A-Level Business Studies. The post-holder will teach across KS3 to KS5 and will work both with subject leaders across the curriculum, and with ICT/Computing staff in our Primary school.
As well as meeting the requirements of the general candidate specification, the successful candidate will be highly self-motivated, able to work independently and be very well organized. Key to success here is an ability to show initiative, manage change and champion the use of technology across the curriculum. Some experience as an Assistant Examiner would be an advantage but is not essential.
