Job overview

“What I value most about the maths department at Fullbrook is the level of creativity and support, offering opportunities to enhance my teaching and take on new responsibilities.”

E Gill – Teacher of Maths

Fullbrook is a mixed 11-18 Academy classified by Ofsted in March 2017 as Good. In 2017, 84% of students achieved five or more GCSEs at 4+ including English and maths.

At Fullbrook we believe all students should be challenged to achieve more than they ever thought possible, and offer a variety of extra-curricular activities, including the Duke of Edinburgh scheme to enhance our students’ talents.

We are seeking to appoint an ambitious Teacher of Mathematics to join a forward thinking and supportive Faculty. Mathematics is a popular choice both at GCSE and A Level. Results are very good with 90% achieving 9 to 4 in GCSE in 2017 and 82% achieving three levels of progress from KS2. At A Level in 2017 75% of Maths students achieved an A* to C grade and over 80% of Further Maths students achieved an A or A* grade.

As one of our specialisms, the Maths Faculty consists of a large team of dedicated staff working together to meet the demands of recent changes to the curriculum. Teaching is underpinned by a well-equipped suite of classrooms, however we also enhance and enrich the student’s learning through a wealth of activities such as:

  • Maths master classes
  • Maths Box Activities for Year 7
  • Maths Challenge Coaching from Sixth Form students
  • Family Numeracy
  • Outreach work with partner schools.

Fullbrook offers an innovative, tailored CPD programme which supports the needs of staff and encourages progression.

Whether you’re an experienced teacher wishing to broaden your experience, or an ambitious and dynamic NQT, we want to hear from you.

As a  leading member of the Guildford Education Partnership Multi-academy  Trust (GEP), Fullbrook works closely with George Abbot and other partner  schools  to share expertise and resources to ensure a broad curriculum provision  and high quality teaching.

Details of the school and an application form are available on our school website.

Closing date: Friday 20 April 2018.

Fullbrook is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS clearance.
