The Academy is seeking to appoint an outstanding part time Teacher of Mathematics, who has a track record of raising attainment and delivering outstanding lessons. Our Maths department is high performing, friendly and supportive. Our results in terms of progress and attainment have been significantly above national averages for the past three years. We are a member of the West London Maths Hub and are actively participating in the national Maths Hub Mastery programme, are currently undertaking research with Pearson and UCL and will be working with the Education Endowment Foundation next academic year. We have a coaching ethos at Chelsea Academy and Mathematics teachers in collaboration with their line manager are expected to reflect and develop their own practice along with contributing to teaching and learning ideas.
In particular, candidates should have:
- An excellent track record teaching at GCSE and AS/A2 level demonstrated through exemplary examination results. This is important as the role will include A level teaching.
- A passion for mathematics and the ability to inspire and enthuse students of all aptitudes
- Strong subject knowledge with the capability to teach outstanding lessons in mathematics up to A-Level Core and Mechanics content
- The capacity to contribute to the development of the Academy’s Christian ethos
- High expectations of students in terms of learning, achievement and behaviour
- Enthusiasm for developing innovative approaches to learning, teaching and student participation
