Job overview
“What I value most about the maths department at Fullbrook is the level of creativity and support, offering opportunities to enhance my teaching and take on new responsibilities.” E Gill – Teacher of Maths
Fullbrook is a mixed 11-18 Academy classified by Ofsted in March 2017 as Good. In 2018, 85% of students achieved 4+ in GCSE English and 82% of students achieved 4+ in Maths.
At Fullbrook we believe all students should be challenged to achieve more than they ever thought possible, so we offer a variety of extra-curricular activities, including the Duke of Edinburgh scheme to enhance our students’ talents.
We are seeking to appoint an ambitious teacher of Mathematics to join a forward thinking and supportive faculty. Mathematics is a popular choice both at GCSE and A Level. Results are very good with 82% achieving 9 to 4 in GCSE in 2018 and more than 80% achieving 3 levels of progress from KS2. At A Level in 2018 65% of Maths students achieved an A* to B grade and 86% of Further Maths students achieved an A* to B grade.
As one of our specialisms, the Maths faculty consists of a large team of dedicated staff working together to meet the demands of recent changes to the curriculum. A well-equipped suite of classrooms underpins teaching, however we also enhance and enrich the student’s learning through a wealth of activities such as;
- Math’s master classes
- Math’s Box activities for Year 7
- Math’s Challenge Coaching from Sixth Form students
- Family Numeracy
- Outreach work with partner schools.
Fullbrook offers a fully, tailored CPD programme which supports the needs of staff and encourages progression.
Whether you’re an experienced teacher wishing to broaden your experience, or an ambitious and dynamic NQT, we want to hear from you.
