Are you passionate about teaching and learning in MFL? Do you have the skills and aptitudes necessary to join a committed and cohesive team of teachers who all aspire to deepen their passion for our craft and help students fulfil their potential? Can you make a significant contribution to a team which is renowned for its excellence in teaching and outcomes? We are looking for an ambitious, reflective and talented teacher (specialising in German ideally up to Key Stage 5, and capable of teaching French at Key Stage 3) to join us at King Edward VI School and ensure an even better learning experience for our students.  

King Edward VI CEVC School is a successful, oversubscribed 11-18 school and for September 2019 will have 1513 students on roll, including 200 in the Sixth Form. We are situated in the historic town of Bury St Edmunds (‘the jewel in the crown of Suffolk’), surrounded by beautiful countryside – just over an hour by train to London, and a 30 minute drive to Cambridge.

We are seeking to appoint a person who:

• is passionate about MFL and is able to inspire our students with a similar love for languages

• is committed to comprehensive education, and to improving outcomes for young people

• can work effectively as part of a team, and make a positive contribution to our ethos and values

• will help us to maintain and build on our wide-ranging success in language teaching

King Edward VI School is a proudly comprehensive secondary school, founded in 1550, in the market town of Bury St Edmunds in the County of Suffolk.

They are polite, listen to their teachers, move from lesson to lesson quickly and quietly and work hard.’  A broad curriculum and extensive enrichment programme prepare students well for the next stage of their lives.’ Our most recent exam results show that the school continues to make good progress.
