Required September 2020

Due to the expansion of the school we wish to appoint an enthusiastic and inspiring Teacher of Music to join our successful and expanding department where Music is taught up to ‘A’ level and includes Music Technology at ‘A’ level.   The department is looking forward to moving into a brand new Music and Drama block towards the end of 2020.  This will provide the department with a range of specialist and purpose-built facilities to deliver an exciting and engaging curriculum to our students to enhance their music education.

Music is a highly successful subject in the school and is increasing its numbers substantially at Key Stage 4 and 5.  A large number of music concerts are performed during the year.  It would be expected that the successful candidate would contribute to a substantial amount of extra-curricular music offered by the school.  The ability to play the piano/another instrument (Grade 7+ or at an equivalent standard) would be an advantage, as would knowledge of sequencing software such as Cubase.

This post would equally suit an experienced teacher or a newly qualified teacher for whom excellent induction and support is provided. If you are in training we offer the opportunity for a July start.

For an informal discussion about the post or to arrange a visit prior to application please contact Tim Braybrook, Deputy Headteacher – tbraybrook@stanborough.herts.sch.uk

Applications are invited by letter to Mrs M John, Headteacher (no more than 2 sides of A4), together with an application form.  Further information and application forms are available on our website www.stanborough.herts.sch.uk
