Job overview

An outstanding opportunity at an outstanding School

We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified and motivated professional to join our high performing Physical Education department for the academic year 2017/18. Student attainment is high at GCSE and A Level and many students choose to continue their studies at university. In Sixth Form, we also offer a Level 3 BTEC National Extended Certificate in Sport. The curriculum across Key Stage 3 and 4 is wide ranging and our students benefit from a broad and balanced programme. There are also many opportunities to participate in extra-curricular activities and clubs.

Alongside Physical Education, we are also seeking a candidate who is able to teach PSHCE across Key Stage 3 and 4.

Weatherhead High School is an extremely successful school. In our OFSTED inspection, we were judged as outstanding in every category. The report noted that “students make outstanding progress whatever their starting point or circumstances and the standards they achieve are significantly above national averages”. In 2016, the school achieved a positive P8 score, placing us in the top 25% of schools in the country.

Weatherhead is a high performing academy with exceptional resources. The school is oversubscribed on intake with a ten form entry each year at Year 7.

This is an exciting opportunity and staff at Weatherhead benefit from a comprehensive programme of support and CPD.

For further details and an application form, please telephone the school or download the relevant files from www.weatherheadhigh.co.uk A letter of application, with the application form including names and addresses of two referees, should be returned to the Executive Headteacher, via post or email. Please note: we are only able to accept application forms downloaded from our website.

Closing date: 3.30pm on Tuesday, 20th June 2017
