An outstanding opportunity at an outstanding School
We are seeking to recruit a well-qualified and motivated PE teacher to join this highly successful department for the full academic year 2019/20. Student attainment is high at GCSE, A Level and BTEC with many students choosing to continue their studies at university. The curriculum across Key Stage 3 is wide ranging and our students benefit from a broad and balanced programme. The school also has an excellent reputation for sporting achievement and plays a very active role in the wider community, participating locally and nationally in many disciplines. We encourage all students to participate in the various extra-curricular activities on offer.
Alongside Physical Education it would be an advantage if the candidate were able to offer a second subject e.g. KS3 Science, Health & Social Care or PSHCE.
Weatherhead High School is an extremely successful school. We have recently been accredited ‘World Class Schools’ status (December 2018) giving us recognition that we have moved beyond our ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted status and have improved student progress, aspiration and achievement to such an extent that our students rival those of the best schools’ nationally and internationally. We are the only non-selective school in Wirral and Merseyside to have been awarded this quality mark.
In 2014, Weatherhead became a Teaching School, and has been supporting neighbouring schools and delivering Initial Teacher Training since. Through our work as a Teaching School and World Class Schools network we offer outstanding CPD and career development for all staff. As part of the Peninsula Multi Academy Trust, Weatherhead is committed to a culture of excellence and we are looking for an individual who shares that ethos.
