Job overview

An outstanding opportunity at an outstanding School

We are seeking to recruit a well-qualified, highly motivated, ambitious and dynamic PE teacher to join our exciting new Health Studies Faculty. The faculty was introduced in September with a vision to build on the strengths of the already highly successful Physical Education and Health and Social Care departments.

This post is open to experienced teachers and NQTs to cover a maternity leave to the end of the academic year 2020/21. Our teacher of PE should be a hardworking professional, committed to thorough lesson planning, enthusiastic delivery and careful assessment.

Student attainment is high at GCSE, A Level and BTEC with many students choosing to continue their studies at university. The PE curriculum across Key Stage 3 is wide ranging and our students benefit from a broad and balanced programme. The school also has an excellent reputation for sporting achievement and plays a very active role in the wider community, participating locally and nationally in many disciplines. We encourage all students to participate in the various extra-curricular activities on offer.

Weatherhead High School is an extremely successful school. We are accredited with ‘World Class Schools’ status giving us recognition that we have moved beyond our ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted status and have improved student progress, aspiration and achievement to such an extent that our students rival those of the best schools’ nationally and internationally. We are the only non-selective secondary school in Wirral and Merseyside to have been awarded this quality mark.

For further details and an application form, please telephone the school on 0151 631 4400 or download the relevant files from www.weatherheadhigh.co.uk

A letter of application with the application form, including names and addresses of two referees, should be returned to the Headteacher, via post or email: schooloffice@weatherheadhigh.co.uk Please note, we are only able to accept application forms downloaded from our website.

Closing date: 3.20pm on Thursday, 12th November 2020.

Weatherhead is committed to safeguarding the welfare of children and young people. An enhanced DBS will be required for this post. Weatherhead is an Equal Opportunities Employer and positively welcomes applications from all people regardless of their sex, creed, marital status, race, age, disability, sexual orientation or religious belief.
