Teacher of Psychology, Criminology, Religious Education and Life Skills
Required 1st September 2019
We are looking for a talented and inspirational teacher to play a pivotal role in our journey from ‘Good’ to ‘Outstanding.’ The ideal candidate will be able to deliver consistently excellent lessons across all key stages.
Carnforth High School is a small, community 11-18 school bordering the Lake District. We are a good school with outstanding features in Leadership and Management and Behaviour and Safety.
We offer ‘Life Skills’ (a planned curriculum of RE, Citizenship and PSHE) to all students in KS3 and KS4. RE is offered as a GCSE option. There are several option classes and results last year were outstanding. Next year we will be offering KS5 Psychology and Criminology for the first time and the provisional uptake for these groups is strong. The ideal applicant would have the skills and drive to take a key role in this new KS5 offer, as well as the ability to deliver RE and/or Life Skills lessons. We would also consider a strong RE teacher for the position, who would also be able to deliver Life Skills and consider training to deliver Psychology and Criminology in the future.
Applicants are warmly encouraged to visit the school, or contact the Principal or Subject Leader of Religious Education and Life Skills for an informal conversation.
Carnforth High School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. This post is subject to a DBS (previously CRB) check.
Applications are welcomed from NQTs and more experienced staff.
Closing date for application: Monday 20th May 2019 at noon
Provisional Interview Date: Wednesday 22nd May 2019
We welcome applications regardless of age, gender ethnicity or religion. Application forms can be downloaded from the school’s website. Completed application forms should be returned FAO: firstname.lastname@example.org.
