OLA is an independent Catholic coeducational day school located just outside Oxford. We seek a dedicated, engaging teacher for this part time role within our Senior School. Religious life is central to the life of OLA and the Religious Studies Department plays an important role in school liturgy, assemblies and the spiritual life of the school community. Religious Studies is a compulsory subject to GCSE and it is necessary to have experience of teaching to this level. Experience of teaching to A Level will be advantageous. The position involves teaching 0.5 of a full timetable and the ideal candidate will be prepared to combine his or her teaching with a contribution to the school’s Chaplaincy work, for which an appropriate time allowance will be given. Abingdon-on-Thames is an historic, modern market town situated eight miles south of Oxford, with its world renowned reputation as a centre of academic excellence. The town supports a mixed international community and has excellent bus links to Oxford, which is just a 15 minute ride away and provides a wealth of social and cultural opportunities.
