Teacher of Social Sciences

Full Time or Part Time | Permanent

Salary: £29,665 – £45,827

We are looking for a dynamic and inspirational teacher who can teach across our social science provision. You must have a commitment to active and innovative teaching and learning and be passionate about engaging and enthusing students’ individual inquiry and instilling in them a love and passion for the subject.

The College is currently undergoing a digital transformation strategy and it is envisaged that all students will have access to an IPad to support their learning. If you are keen to help improve the digital literacy of learners, then we want to hear from you.

You will work within a well-resourced social sciences department that provides an exciting environment to deliver outstanding teaching and learning. The social sciences on offer at the College include A levels in Sociology and Psychology, an applied L3 diploma in Criminology and a BTEC L3 national certificate in Applied Psychology. It is envisaged that the successful candidate will be willing to teach across one or more of these courses.  A significant proportion of our students go on to university with many electing to study related subjects, some of whom will go on to Oxbridge and Russell Group universities.

The salary will be paid on the Sixth Form Colleges’ scale (29,665 – 45,827) per annum inclusive of Inner London Weighting.  Progression will be by one scale point each year, subject to satisfactory appraisal outcomes, until scale 9 is reached.
