We are looking to appoint a talented, enthusiastic and ambitious teacher of Sociology to join our outstanding Humanities faculty. Sandringham School is a large, highly successful, and oversubscribed mixed comprehensive school with a long-standing reputation for excellence. It has been graded Outstanding by Ofsted in every inspection since 2008, including the most recent in 2024.
Becoming an academy in 2011 and a founding member of a multi-academy trust in 2017, Sandringham now plays a leading role within the Ambition Education Trust, a cross-phase partnership of five primary and five secondary schools across Hertfordshire.

Sandringham is an eight-form entry comprehensive with over 1,800 students, including more than 600 in the Sixth Form. The Sixth Form is a beacon of excellence, popular both with existing students and those who join from other schools, drawn by its reputation for outstanding teaching, pastoral care, and results.
Sandringham also hosts the Alban Teaching School Hub, responsible for the training and development of staff across over a hundred schools in Hertfordshire. This includes Initial Teacher Training and the school regularly supports ITT staff each year, as they learn more about teaching and gain qualified teacher status.
We deliver a blended learning environment with every owns a Chromebook (laptops in the sixth form) to support their learning. We use Google Suite software to support this, together with other applications that provide an integrated service to help students manage their learning. All staff are provided with a device to allow them to carry out their responsibilities, and training to support the deliver.
The campus is developed on a continuous basis and boasts significant buildings for the arts (dance, drama, music, art) including a full-sized professional theatre, sport (indoor swimming pool, sports hall, gym, fitness suite 4g floodlit pitch, 8 tennis courts, netball courts, and 110m synthetic running track), STEM (12 fully-equipped laboratories, newly refurbished Design and Technology block, dedicated maths building) in addition to a large sixth form campus including cafeteria and coffee shop.
Staff are used to working closely together for the benefit of students, with high-performing teams in every faculty. Well-being is a high priority and the school takes every opportunity to address workload challenges and avoid unnecessary bureaucracy.
