About the role

Greenfields Primary School & Nursery are looking for an outstanding Teaching Assistant to offer support for identified children with SEN. We are a happy and friendly school with amazing children. Our vision is to be the best we can be in everything that we do. We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and hardworking TA who will put the children at the heart at everything they do.

This role is a fixed term contract for the duration that the identified child attends Greenfields Primary School & Nursery.

We can offer you a great team with a wide range of training opportunities including bespoke courses from the David Ross Education Trust.

Start Date: As soon as possible pending notice period and pre-employment checks

Who we are looking for

An ambitious and motivated Teaching Assistant with some experience of the Early years curriculum who is keen to make a difference?

Applicants must be able:

  • To work with a named child on a 1:1 and ensure their individual needs are met as per their educational health care plan.
  • To help with their learning or help with their communication or sensory needs.
  • To work under the specific supervision, instruction and guidance of the SENco and class teacher to support the teaching and learning activities in the classroom.
  • To provide general support to the class teacher in the organisation and management of pupils and the classroom.
  • To assist the teacher in creating and maintaining a purposeful, orderly and supportive learning environment.
  • To promote the inclusion of all pupils, ensuring they have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop.
  • To be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within the school.
  • Have excellent classroom practice
  • To get involved in whole school life
  • To be an active team player who shows initiative and works well as part of a team
  • To have a commitment to safeguard children in our care
