Job overview
We are seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to provide in-class support and deliver educational activities with individuals, groups and whole classes. You will be working with students across all core subject lessons to ensure they are engaged and accessing the curriculum.
This role would suit a qualified Teaching Assistant or a graduate seeking further school experience. Classroom experience, or experience of relevant work with young people in one of a range of fields such as education, youth work, health or social work, would be beneficial. As a highly organised and adaptable professional, you will be able to work calmly under pressure and to communicate effectively with students; identifying and meeting their needs to remove barriers to learning.
The Queen Elizabeth Academy is an 11-16 mixed academy based in Atherstone with approximately 626 pupils on roll. Following our recent Ofsted inspection in May 2017, we were shown to be “Good with Outstanding features”, a real testament to the hard work and dedication of our staff and students.
Our summer examination results were fantastic. Our performance was well above National Averages in all key performance criteria and our Progress 8 score of +0.39 was quite stunning.
In November 2016, as part of the Priority School Building Programme, we moved into brand new premises that have given us access to fantastic new facilities, which really set us apart in the locality.
Our school continues to grow. The Local Authority has asked us to take additional students from September 2019 and as result increased capacity will be added over the coming months to cater for school expansion, with the completion of a new teaching block.
We are a forward thinking school, always looking for areas to develop and improve as well as being very open to new ideas; we feel this is best way to ensure consistent development and attainment of our students.
