Clifton High School is an academically selective, co-educational, independent day school for over 570 pupils aged 3-18 years. Situated on a beautiful Bristol site, we operate the Diamond Edge Model of Education underpinned by a strong pastoral and family ethos.

We seek to appoint well-qualified and experienced Teaching Assistants to support pupils in all year groups from our Nursery School to Year 2. Applicants must be qualified to NVQ level 3, or hold an equivalent qualification, and must have proven literacy and numeracy skills.  Teaching Assistants work predominantly during term time and include continuous professional development (CPD) days.

The hours are 32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.  Daily start and finish times may vary but are in the range of 8.00am to 4.15pm; flexibility is required in this respect.

Teaching Assistants at Clifton High are proactive in the promotion of pupil development and provide high level support of education, social and physical needs. The successful candidates must have at least two years’ experience of working with children in a Nursery, a Reception class or aged up to 7 and will work under the direction of a class teacher. The successful applicants will support the practical organisation of class activities, undertake group work and ensure that the pupils’ developmental and welfare needs are met.  Experience of supporting phonics is essential.  Supervision of the pupils at break and lunchtime are expected as part of this role.

The successful applicants will enjoy contributing to an excellent working environment for pupils, staff, parents and the wider school community.

Completed application forms should be accompanied by a covering letter of application to the Head of School, Dr Alison Neill.  To apply for this vacancy please click the apply now button below.
