An excellent opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, learner-focused, inspirational individual to be involved in an exciting new venture at Barnsley College, taking on the role of Tutorial Learning Mentor in the 14-16 Direct Entry department. The college introduced Direct Entry provision for 14-16 year olds in September 2019 and we are looking to expand our team. Students are enrolled full-time at the college and study a combination of GCSEs and vocational qualifications. The provision is aimed at young people who are not benefitting from school and are motivated by a more practical curriculum.

37 hours per week, permanent, 41 weeks per year (mainly term-time)
£22,287-£24,302 actual salary
The successful candidate will work collaboratively alongside the other tutorial team members to provide tutorial and pastoral support departmentally. Working alongside teachers and a range of other staff, the candidate will support learners and help them to succeed. They will help plan and deliver a range of pastoral interventions within the team and be able to successfully respond in this fast-paced, learner-focused environment.
They will deliver engaging sessions that support the main curriculum and help the learners develop their skills and behaviours.
