Job overview

We are looking for an inspirational leader to fill this newly created senior leadership role focusing on two critical areas; quality and the student experience. The successful candidate will transform the way we currently do things and drive us to provide even better teaching, learning and student support to our 9000 students. We are committed to this task and will support new ideas to achieve our goal.

You will need to be a strong communicator, a leader dedicated to improving quality, have the ability to horizon-scan and think ahead and have the skills to fit seamlessly into a high performing senior management team. Above all you must be able to effect change and demonstrate how you will, through challenge, inspiration and innovation, take us beyond outstanding.

Barnsley College is an outstanding provider of further and higher education with a first class estate and facilities. We have invested heavily in our college and are a financially stable £40 million institution with plans to grow even further. Having been through wave one of the Area Based Review we will continue as a stand-alone tertiary provider for the town of Barnsley.
