Columba Catholic College, Charters Towers is seeking applications from experienced and passionate Pastoral Middle Leaders.

This role is a Full Time, Permanent position and will commence in Term 1, 2021

The role of the Pastoral Middle Leader is to support the mission of Columba Catholic College through effective leadership in supporting students as College and community members. This role demonstrates leadership in three dimensions: Faith and Mission Leadership, Educational Leadership, and Staff Leadership. 
The Pastoral Middle Leader will teach the following subjects:

  • Religion and Ethics - up to and including Year 12
  • Digital Technologies
  • ICT
  • Certificate II Workplace skills

Any combination of the above mentioned subjects is desirable, and other subject combinations will be considered, however experience teaching Certificate II Workplace Skills and Digital Technologies is a distinct advantage. 

The Pastoral Leader is responsible for:

  • Leading the pastoral care of students in years 9/10 within the College
  • Supervision and induction of teachers engaged in pastoral care
  • Pastoral care of staff engaged in the area of responsibility
  • Other appropriate duties as required by the Principal and Senior Leadership Team.

To join our vibrant school community, you'll need:

  • Secondary Teaching experience for at least 5 years or previous middle leader experience (desirable, not essential)
  • Innovative, proactive and flexible approach to student learning
  • Established knowledge of, and experience in, curriculum initiatives
  • Demonstrated strong and effective communication and collaboration with students, parents and staff
  • Current Queensland College of Teaching Registration or ability to obtain before commencement
  • Current Working with Children Suitability Card - The successful candidate will require a paid Blue Card before commencement as per the No Card, No Start policy developed by the Queensland Government.
