An awarding-winning primary school building that features a rooftop garden and distinctive curved classrooms was officially opened last Saturday.
The Pounds 4.6 million project for All Saints Primary in Little Horton Green recently won the best West Yorkshire education project category in the Building Excellence Awards and has been nominated for the national finals in October.
Designed with the help of the pupils to be environmentally sustainable, the building has 14 large classrooms, a range of community areas and a two-storey atrium.
Headteacher Sue Hart said: “We are so proud of our new school. All the children love their classrooms and the huge play area, which is surrounded by mature trees.
Plans for developing the outside include a shelter for parents and a multi-use games area.
“While the school was taking shape, we used to bring children from our old site. They found it really exciting to see it develop.”
Guests expected to attend the ceremony included players from Bradford City Football Club.
