Call for rethink on Baccalaureate

Music experts have appealed to the Government to revamp the English Baccalaureate, awarded to pupils who score at least C grades in English, maths, science, history or geography and a foreign language at GCSE. The Incorporated Society of Musicians and Music Teacher magazine say it should include a “sixth pillar” to allow for a cultural or creative option.
