Five groups of children will assume the roles of producers, editors, scriptwriters, interviewers and film crew and make documentaries of the conference. The videos will be broadcast via a webcam.
A group from St Angela’s Primary in Darnley, Glasgow, will be joined by pupils from Edinburgh primaries Gylemuir and Davidsons Mains, as well as Dyce Academy, near Aberdeen, and a youth group called Yipworld from Cumnock in Ayrshire.
As well as giving the children first-hand experience with the technology, the scheme will enable teachers to watch others using it while working in a specialist design set. Visitors can also learn more at the film studio stand, C10.
The best documentaries will be picked out to be shown on large plasma screens around the exhibition (which will also be broadcasting SETT TV) in the afternoons of the show.
They will also be sent to Inverness, where a pilot satellite of the conference is being held for teachers in Highland.
