I was very pleased to see your timely call for colleges to join forces to “promote their brand to the public”, as this is at the heart of the first Celebrating Colleges Week, which will run from November 10- 16.

The Association of Colleges and the Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills are working in partnership with the Department for Children, Schools and Families and the Learning and Skills Council to raise the profile of the sector, and more than 100 colleges will be taking part. The week will highlight the impact that colleges have on developing skills, delivering excellence, building strong communities, helping businesses to succeed and transforming lives.

Events will include a national network of business breakfasts for employers and a day of skills challenges that will demonstrate the variety of colleges’ work.
