A council has pledged to launch a fresh battle against education secretary Michael Gove’s move to scrap its school building projects. Sandwell Council in West Midlands has said it has written to Mr Gove questioning the lawfulness of his latest decision in which he said he was “not minded” to restore a string of rebuilding schemes in the area. The local authority was one of six to fight a High Court battle in February against the move to scrap the #163;55 billion Building Schools for the Future programme.
