How has he come to his conclusion? Do humans behave well to each other, to other creatures or to the planet? If humans are inherently superior to other creatures, perhaps it is time they demonstrated that fact.
Mr Pike warns teachers about teaching material from bodies such as People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. The desire to stifle discussion indicates he fears the truth. Humans have a poor history; if they are superior beings they must show more compassion and self-control - or they will destroy the planet.
