A leaflet extolling the virtues of modern languages was issued by the Scottish Executive to pupils and their parents. It is directed at pupils in P5-P7 and S1-S2. Nicol Stephen, Deputy Education Minister, described the new “entitlement” policy on modern languages as “a positive measure” designed to ensure all pupils had access to learning other languages from P6.
