Pupils who describe themselves as Muslim, Hindu or Sikh are more likely to go to university than those who say they are Christian or atheist. In a study of more than 13,000 young people by UK National Statistics for the Department for Education, 15-year-olds who say they are Christian were half as likely to go to university as their Hindu counterparts.
