I presume that Kay Driver was misquoted in relation to the gender balance of SHA’s current membership of 8,850, as 67 per cent of members are men with 33 per cent women.
Part of the excellent work initiated and led by Kay Driver in the area of equal opportunities through the training and development arm of SHA, has empowered and encouraged women to participate fully in the work of our national council where women representatives account for 42 per cent of the total.
SHA is far from being male-dominated as many of our excellent women members would confirm.
The gender balance has been moved considerably in recent years and we look forward to shifting it even further.
