A special event at Edinburgh Castle this weekend looks back at Scotland’s role in the First World War and the enormous contribution of families and communities throughout the country.
The castle’s Great Hall is the setting for “The Great War and Scotland” tomorrow and on Sunday from 10.30am-4pm. There will be performances by costumed historic re-enactors, while experts from Historic Scotland will help visitors trace records of their families’ involvement in the war through archives and medal rolls.
The event is included in the price of admission to the castle.
