Students studying for a diploma in IT had a glimpse inside the London offices of software giant Microsoft this week. The event, organised by e-skills UK, gave 200 young people an insight into a career in IT. Microsoft employees, including interns, graduates, and those working in research and online technology, spoke about their experiences and the importance of technology to the wider world. Schools minister Sarah McCarthy-Fry said: “With this diploma, students are getting a solid grounding in a discipline that will stand them in good stead in a whole range of careers in a technology-enabled world.”
