As well as providing the latest news in education, an Internet version of The TES would be able to link schools and colleges to the wide range of free educational material on-line. This could range from pictures from NASA space probes to the full text of Jane Austen’s novels.
There are dozens of services the Internet could provide for The TES and its readers. For instance, it could be used to build an education reference library, which could include an archive of Updates and Extras from The TES or documents from the Department for Education and Employment.
You can see a demonstration of what a TES Internet service might look like on The TES stand at the Education Show. If you have any thoughts on the kind of information that you might want from such a service, then write to Sean Coughlan at The TES, Admiral House, 66-68 East Smithfield, London E1 9XY or send e-mail to sean@tes1.demon.co.uk.
