I THINK I will go absolutely mad if I receive another group email asking whether I have any pins or sticky tape or some such trivia. I used to think my bin was always too full so I started recycling. I can’t recycle all this junk email, though, can I? It just builds up and up and ebinning it is just another extra job. I counted more than 30 messages this week, two of which were relevant to me.

It would seem college intranets have just become another form of pointless communication. Recently, Liverpool Council initiated a no email day on Fridays, insisting that employees either get up from their desks and seek help face-to-face or save their entreaties for break time. Colleges might do well to follow suit.
