I don’t want to see showmen (and women) change their traditional way of life - which is part of my heritage, too (“Reforms may put Travellers on road to prosecution”, TES, 20 April). I also don’t want the children of any Traveller family to lose out.
In today’s digital world, surely there is no need for Traveller pupils to miss out? What about virtual learning environments, podcasting, email, blogging? Yes, it means more work for staff, but surely the rights of the children come first? Let’s use the tools we have to their best advantage and enable all children to learn, irrespective of their geographical location.
