Jordanian Prime Minister Samir Rifai has urged his education officials to become more “tuned in” to teachers’ demands. He told a meeting at his education ministry that Jordan had made a “quantum leap” in education, noting that the kingdom was at the forefront of Arab states in reducing illiteracy, thanks to the teachers “who firmly believe in their sacred message”. Mr Rifai stressed the importance of updating school curricula to encourage creative thinking for students. “We should teach students how to think more than what to think,” the premier said.
