Some of our year 12s are lucky enough to take part in Oxfordshire’s Model United Nations General Assembly (Munga), held annually.

The event is well organised, and well resourced, with back-up material for students to prepare. Teams of three represent countries, debate issues, attend committees, prepare resolutions, lobby other countries and deal with an international crisis.

Debate is easily as robust and decisions swifter than at the real United Nations. I recommend getting involved in Munga in your area, or setting one up.

We also get the Year 12 participants to present their countries to the rest of their year group, and to run a mini-Munga in school for Year 10.
