The fact that the reaction of many to this pack will probably be to ask why we need a pack on women and sport at all, shows how far we have come from the time when the founder of the Modern Olympic Games, Baron Pierre de Coubertin, stated that “women have but one task, that of crowning the winner with garlands”.
