The best seats in the house at this year’s final Ashes game may not be on the cricket pitch after all, but in a classroom overlooking the ground at the Oval.

Lucky pupils at the all-boys Archbishop Tenison’s school in Lambeth, London, will be able to cheer on their cricket heroes as England try to win the Ashes from Australia for the first time in 18 years.

The boys can see the players going to the field for practices and some of the pupils are already collecting autographs from Andrew Flintoff and co.

However Louise Fox, headteacher, insisted it was all going to be business as usual. “Lessons will carry on as normal, we’ll just have to wait for the applause to die down,” she said.
