Scottish Executive determination not to introduce top-up fees

* The Scottish Executive has reiterated its determination not to introduce top-up fees in Scotland. Speaking at the annual reception hosted by the National Union of Students last week, Jim Wallace, Deputy First Minister and Lifelong Learning Minister, said it was crucial not to deter students.

Any impact on Scotland from the introduction of top-up fees in England would be “carefully considered” by the Executive’s HE review, Mr Wallace said.
