The Brixton Studio teachers’ pack draws on the work of Harry Jacobs, who created a photographic archive of the localpopulation from the 1950s onwards. The pack displays examples of his work alongside recent portraits devised by local black secondary school students. The pack illustrates the shifting relationship between social and technological change during the past 50 years. As Sunday suits and formal poses give way to hooded tops and questioning glances, the pictures provide the means to explore issues around identity, representation, fantasy and power. The pack costs pound;3.50 from the Photographers’ Gallery.Tel: 020 7831 1772Email: info@photonet.org.ukwww.photonet.org.uk
