I write to raise an issue regarding Father Christmas. I realise that perhaps I should have written in about July to make any significant changes for this year, but perhaps writing now will bring about a slow change over the next five years.
It doesn’t take a great deal of research to discover that Father Christmas, as we have known him, has not always presented himself in the familiar red suit, and that his image in fact changes to fit the times.
Surely now, in this enlightened age of environmentalism, he should be changing into his green suit and standing for everything that symbolises.
Perhaps he should even regain his title as Father Winter. I know he agrees with me.
