Two major education shows are being held under one roof in London this autumn. The Education Show London 2004 and Special Needs London take place at National Hall, Olympia, September 30 to October 2 inclusive.

The Education Show London 2004 is a showcase for a vast range of teaching and learning resources and there are also 70 Inset seminars, including a keynote lecture from Professor Tim Brighouse on The London Challenge.

Special areas around the show include Learning by the Book, which focuses on printed word resources, and The ICT Zone, a dedicated area for software suppliers.

Special Needs London is the largest SEN event in the UK and this year features more than 240 exhibitors. Last year’s show attracted more than 6,000 visitors. There is also an extensive seminar programme covering a diverse range of issues, and free presentations where companies show their latest products or services and you get the chance to ask questions.

Entry to both events is free and, pre-registering will fasttrack entry.

* If you have an interest in special needs and can get to London in a reasonable travelling time, then it is well worth heading to the Business Design Centre in Islington, north London, for The Nasen and TES Special Needs Exhibition. This event, October 22 to 23 hosts the SpecialneedsIT London 2004 exhibition. Organised by Inclusive Consultancy and Training, the event focuses exclusively on special needs and includes the latest in special needs software, access devices and communication aids.

Exhibitors taking part include Inclusive Technology, Softease, Crick Software, Resource Education, Widgit Software and Sight and Sound Technology. Visitors will get the chance to touch, see and feel an array of special needs software and equipment, as well as talk to the companies that developed them. There is also a How-IT-Works seminar programme, offering lots of advice, information and support in the use of ICT within special needs. The seminars are free, as is entry to the show.
