Targets on literacy miss the mark

Ofsted is failing in its role of “promoting improvement and value for money” in education if all it does is find fault and demand higher levels of achievement.

It would be much more useful if, instead of picking fault, Ofsted were to describe what the best schools are doing, and better if it ceased this bullying approach and led our schools to better achievement with encouragement.
