Plans to pilot a new-style teaching year by introducing a third semester at Liverpool John Moores University received a set-back this week when the overwhelming majority of the 363 lecturers - 97 per cent - voting in a poll by their union NATFHE opposed it. The plans are for a third overlapping term lasting half a year and running throughout the summer.
