Education minister Jane Hutt said she is prepared to consider compulsory training for chairs of school governing bodies. Ms Hutt was responding to a cross-party committee inquiry into governing bodies, which said some schools were being failed by their governors. The minister also said she would consider asking Estyn to review the role of clerks, and said local government had a role to play in improving school governance.
