A citizenship class in modern studies was going full steam ahead in a South Lanarkshire school the other week.
Emboldened by the enthusiasm of her charges, the teacher challenged the class: “I want you to imagine that you each have pound;1million to spend to make life better for anyone, anywhere in the world. Now, what would you do with it?”
Quick as a flash, an earnest lad put up his hand and answered: “Ah wid buy Africa for a million, miss, and then dae it up.”
