In many ways my school could not be more different from Marius Frank’s (“Diary of an Ofsted inspection”, TES Magazine, April 23). It is an all-girls, selective, independent school that regularly comes at the top of exam league tables. Yet when I read Mr Frank’s diary about his inspection at the weekend waiting for my inspection to begin on Monday, I recognised exactly the same emotions of dread and anxiety.
Although so different in many ways, I too have a school that has worked incredibly hard to offer pupils a better education and I too knew so much of that would never be seen in an inspection. There is something fundamentally wrong with a system that creates this amount of tension, never mind paperwork.
