17-year-old's life-saving device wins;In brief

A SHEFFIELD schoolgirl has won the Young Engineers of Britain contes for inventing a device which could dramatically reduce the number of road accidents involving caravans and trailers. Michelle Dagnall, 17, from Eckington school, invented the Safe-Weigh device which simplifies the process of finding out if loads are too heavy to be roadworthy. She wins pound;2,500 for herself and for her school.
